competition
Contest between two rivals. The effort of two or more parties, acting independently, to secure the business of a third party by the offer of the most favorable terms; also the relations between different buyers or different sellers which result from this effort. Ingram Corp. v. Circle, Inc., La.App., 188 So.2d 96, 98.
It is the struggle between rivals for the same trade at the same time; the act of seeking or endeavoring to gain what another is endeavoring to gain at the same time. The term implies the idea of endeavoring by two or more to obtain the same object or result.
